Wet Flannel Productions is an emerging theatre company of five performers, which I am lucky to be one of, set up during our time at the University of Chichester. We devise through a process of long-form improvisation and collaboration to present work in a post-dramatic lens which celebrates the individual skills and specialities of each performer. Our theatre explores contemporary social and political issues with a rigorous commitment and investment to challenge audiences and leave them questioning.

Our recent hour-long devised production Not to the Lighthouse (again) is an atmospheric post-modern adaption of Edgar Allen Poe's short story The Lighthouse that explores isolation, morality, and the fragility of human relationships. Full of tension, emotion, and striking imagery, this production invites reflection on how we relate to one another. An exploration of human connection and disconnection in a post-pandemic world where despite our hyper-social connections we seem to be more alone than ever.

We are excited to have been given the opportunity and chosen to perform the piece again on the 12th of June in the Chichester University Showroom. Wet Flannel collectively hope to take this piece further and tour in the future. We are keen to see where our emerging company could take us and the possibilities it holds.
